Insider: Mastrojanni

Extension: 59 acres

Clay, tuff, ancient limy river pebbles, sandstone and almost forty-year-old vines give us the finest grapes.

The vineyards are located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, near the Orcia River, with varied soil compositions and exposures (south, south-east, south-west), producing grapes of great character and complexity.

The iconic Cru “Schiena d’Asino” is named after the hill's ridge shape. Older vines are preserved with careful replanting to maintain age and yield quality.

Production: 70,000 bottles

Inspired by traditional construction, the winery uses stone gabions, brick arches, wooden beams, and natural materials to blend into the environment and support optimal wine aging conditions.

Mastrojanni follows a non-interventionist philosophy: intervening as little as possible to preserve the grape’s natural aromas and structure, while staying vigilant to prevent issues.
