The vineyards play an essential part in the landscape of Lago di Garda (Lake Garda), which is one of the most appreciated touristic areas between Venice and Milan.
Lago di Garda and the surrounding territory were generated by four different glaciations, whose result is not just the
Lake, but also the undulated moraine hills and the clay-like plains that surround it.
The water of Lago di Garda and the gentle wind that blows in this pre-alpine area, generates the Mediterranean
microclimate at the most Northern latitude in the world.
The South-Western shore of Lago di Garda belongs to the province of Brescia.
Here the agricultural environment enjoys a delicate and respectful balance with the territory and its wildlife, and the wine vocation is at its highest level.
Production: 95.000 bottles
In 1946 the Peri family moved from Visano, southern part of Brescia, to the hill of Castenedolo, buying the Palace hold by Togni family.
The Palace was built in the first years of the 18th Century.
The most amazing part of the Palace was the entrance to the old cellar a huge stairs with marble steps went down
directly starting from the main door.
Seeing now the old stairs seemed that all the Palace was built to enhance the cellar and the whole wine production.
In the old picture of the postcard here, approximately from 1920’s, it’s still possible to see half barriques used as jars for the lemon trees in the garden.
In that period the cellar was already working…
Proprietor: Peri family
Winemaker: Andrea Peri, Alessandro Santini
Graziella and Adriano Peri bought the palace in 1946.
The historical cellar under the palace and the vineyards all around were a strong motivation for Adriano to mantain the tradition of the wine production.
The red and white wine produced in Castenedolo by Peri family started gaining Appreciations. In addition, their son who was called Mario, who was later helped by his wife Maria, started feeling a strong passion for managing the winery.
The newlyweds in 1972 decided to bottling the best selection of their wines, creating some labels that are still
produced now by the Peri family.
In the harvesting of 1980, some of the white grapes were used to produce the first Spumante Metode Champennoise, with eccellent results.
In 2008 the young son Andrea started an important internationalization project that allowed the products after some years, to reach 3 Continents in the world.
In 2012 a new modern vinification area was Inaugurated, letting the third generation bet on a successful future.
